Description
This experimental artwork on paper was created by monoprinting using a leafy sprig collected on a sunny nature walk in the early Summer. The beauty of this piece lies in its simplicity. I often find it hard to leave my work imperfect and simple like this but I chose to honour the messy nature of the printing process, only using a chalk pencil to add an outline and the sun. The rich burnt sienna colour of the chalk creates such a beautiful contrast against the deep mauve paint.
This artwork would look stunning framed in a glass floating frame.
Please be aware the pastel used may smudge if not handled carefully.
