Description

This experimental little artwork on paper is a combination of abstract painting and a monoprint of an oak leaf collected on a nature walk towards the end of Autumn. Beginning with a loose and playful background on textured watercolour paper using paint and pastels, I inked up the pressed oak leaf and printed it over the painting repeatedly layering up different ink colours. The vibrant pink pastel really brings a lot of joy to this piece, so bright that it shines through the leaf print. Although initially inspired by the autumn leaves, the piece has quite a happy, summery feel about it.

 

This artwork would look stunning framed in a glass floating frame.

Please be aware the pastels used may smudge if not handled carefully.
