Description
This expressive painting on paper was painted as part of a series of 9 abstract pieces all painted together. Painted in a loose and fervent style, these quick paintings convey a very strong sense of emotion and energy. Each one is one-of-a-kind and tells a different story from the others. They’d look amazing hung up in a row as a series or a triptych.
The series of 9 is titled ‘Intuition’ honouring the instinctive process that led to their creation. Intuitively moving from one piece to the next, led by flowing movements and residual emotions, I found myself focusing on all of the different elements that guide my intuition as I painted. Abstract concepts and feelings that can’t so easily be put into words but as shapes and expressive marks communicate this elemental way of knowing that we all have deep within us. Relating to the earth, the seasons, our bodies and energy, each painting within the series has its own theme: Rain, Wind, Root, Solar, Lotus, Vibration, Lunar, Gut and Third Eye.
The artworks were painted taped to the wall which is why each one has a masked border. These masked edges are uneven and imperfect, beautifully reflecting the organic and non-precious nature of the painting process.
Although photographed in a poster hanger, Sky recommends framing behind glass to protect the painting properly.
Please be aware the chalk pastels used may smudge if not handled carefully.
