This ethereal painting features Sky’s Pine Marten illustration. The Pine Marten is endangered in England and Wales so Sky chose to focus on them especially for a charity auction with Somerset Wildlife Trust. This animal once thrived across Britain but came very close to extinction quite recently due to deforestation and hunting. A program to reintroduce them to our woodlands is now slowly taking effect which may also benefit British Red Squirrel populations since pine martens prey on the more dominant Grey Squirrel.
This painting has been created using a combination of mixed media including oil paint, acrylic paint, collage, pastel, graphite, copper leaf, and image transfers.
