Framed in a beautiful limed beech wood tray frame by Raven Frames.
This painting was painted towards the end of Sky’s time spent working from the orangery at Blaise Castle Estate in 2021. It was a response to the beautiful plants and surroundings there, as well as an emotional response to knowing her time there was coming to an end as the autumn encroached. A bittersweet explosion of joyful summer colours combined with a flurry of emotion over the last fleeting days of warmth. Sky wanted to explore working more abstractly, throwing herself into larger scale work and releasing herself from expectations and inhibitions when creating this piece.
The painting has been created using a combination of mixed media including oil paint, acrylic paint, collage, pastel, graphite and copper leaf.
