FEBRUARY Pinterest Board of the Month

This month I’ve chosen a board named Collage/Mixed Media by Vasiliki Kypraiou on Pinterest.

It’s weird, wonderful and playful! I’ve always loved collage, and although I use it in a very different way in my own work, the use of retro imagery to create these bizarre scenes and juxtapositions has always entertained and fascinated me.

I hope you enjoy scrolling through as much as me. I have to admit, having hit the ground running this January, I think the cold weather and busyness of everyday life is taking it’s toll a little on me now it’s February so seeing this Pinterest board gave me a little lift today! There are an awful lot of planets, lemons and fish used I’ve noticed – I guess they’re just good for creating humour!

Inspired by Insects

Hello and a very happy Hallow’s Eve to you all! I thought I’d make this week’s post a little Halloween themed by featuring creepy crawly inspired designs. I actually really love insect inspired artwork as their often intricate wing patterns and delicate structure make for fascinating subjects to observe.

So I’ve rounded up a little selection of my favourite artwork and products featuring beautifully illustrated insects right here for you to enjoy on the scariest night of the year. Click on the images to visit each designer’s website, or see more details at the bottom of the post.
